Breaking Yet Another Parenting Rule

Actual words spoken by me, less than twelve hours apart:

To the preteen: “If you aren’t going to do a good job folding the laundry, you will have to fold it all again!”

To her five year old brother the following morning: “If you aren’t going to do a good job cleaning the bathroom mirror, I’m not going to let you help me any more!”

Consistency in discipline is SO over-rated.
